The Gradient Fade uses a grayscale image as a fading pattern.

By moving from the brightest pixels to the darkest pixels, areas darker than the current brightness value will show the current image; whereas areas brighter than the current brightness value will show the next image. Hence, as the fade moves from the bright areas to the dark areas, the current image will slowly fadeaway, letting the next image show through.

The Gradient Fade has an additional feature known as 'feather'. It is a value which controls the smoothness of the boundary between both images.

The Gradient Fade provides unlimited flexibility in defining your own fading patterns.
